“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” —Isaiah 6:5
rlew.com seeks a God-Entranced Vision of All Things for all people. This aim was whet by descriptions of Jonathan Edwards (1703–1758) in a collection of essays entitled A God Entranced Vision of All Things, eds. John Piper and Justin Taylor and by Mark Noll’s lament:
Evangelicals have not thought about life from the ground up as Christians, because their entire culture has ceased to do so. Edwards’ piety continued on in the revivalist tradition, his theology continued on in academic Calvinism, but there were no successors to his God-entranced worldview or his profoundly theological philosophy. The disappearance of Edward’s perspective in American Christian history has been a tragedy.[1]
While a part of the universal church of Jesus Christ, rlew.com serves with a particular emphasis to and from a local church, Chinese Evangelical Free Church in Monterey Park, CA.
Some may remember that rlew.com was once a weblog called “Richard’s Dish” (c. 2001-2003). I glanced through a few old posts and realized there were some amusing things posted to rlew.com in the misty past. We’ll see if anything gets dusted off for the new age.
